Hi, my name is Stacy Lyn Jensen. I am one of those annoying people who has been in love with words all of their life. That love has led me down many roads, the most recent of which is here; to this website. Where I want to be a part of the ongoing conversation. What conversation? The conversation that all writers have with each other. The writers helping writers conversation.
My story, although it begins many eons ago, back when the world was new, so to speak; it really starts after my firstborn son was about one-year-old. Once he turned one; it occurred to me that I should try to do something with my life. And, it also occurred to me that there was really only one thing that I ever wanted to do. Write.
Then, through a weird series of coincidences, I found myself unemployed with a manuscript that needed revision, and a yearning to go back to school and study creative writing. In my classes, writers were always helping writers, sometimes in ways that were intimidating.
But, I came out on the other side with my love of writing intact. Also, I’ve taken a couple of things from the experience that are important to share with those walking a similar path. The first one is, writers are eager to help other writers. Second, my grammar skills were not as good as I remembered, and I think it’s important to continue the study of grammar. Third, editing takes many forms and also, it needs to be done. Fourth, plot can be simple. And finally, fifth; reading is so important to writing skills.
So, in making this website, I want to be one of those writer helping writers. We can all help each other in any way necessary. Because, from my experience writers are a caring bunch, who get lost in story and get excited about other’s stories, and I hope to be a site to help any and everyone with their own writing and story needs and wants.
